Kikka and puppies (week 2a, 2006)

,
Week 2 is progressing much more calm and normal than week 1. Both puppies are growing by the day, the stress of having sick puppies and loosing puppies is no longer there for Kikka, and all together the puppy box is finally rather quiet.
Please be adviced, that we might take a few days on responding to e-mails from friends and family.
We thank You for Your patience.
We do currently not respond to new puppy inquiries.

Into the big box...
As usual the smaller plast bottom of Kikka's crate became a bit too warm for the puppies, so they "graduated" into the big box, which they settled into instantly
After the first nap, both of them spend more and more time wandering around in the box, and taking in every detail. There is no way the 2 can get lost, even though the box seems rather big for their size, and even though they don't have eyes.
Kikka is enjoying to be able to stretch out, she loves being a Mama dog, and sleeps with her puppies all day and all night.
Maddy decided she had enough of being left out, and has visited the puppies inside their box 2 times. She would very much like to play the Mama dog part, but the young pups do need their Mother more than they need a surrogate Mother. To Maddy's great regret the access to the box has been closed for now.
Nail clipping, personalities and new record
The puppies' nails were clipped at the beginning of the week, and in best Farmdog style, these 2 little ladies did not think that was too much fun. It was however fun to try to hang onto them, while they were wiggling and actually making little growling sounds, a couple of very determined little ladies are developing here.
Both puppy # 2 and puppy #3 also find it entertaining to shake their heads while holding a nipple in their mouth, if it doesn't dispense milk at their convenience. The first little attempts of playing is what it seems like.
These 2 have also broke a record at Kennel Little Denmark's, as they are the youngest puppies we have had this far to open their eyes. This happened the day they were 11 days old. Puppy # 3 first, and within hours puppy # 2.
