Kikka and puppies (week 6b, 2006)
,
6 weeks old working life has started
|
At age 6 weeks, a lot of new things are learned. Both puppies have started to learn "sit" and are doing really well, but still can't sit long enough for us to take a picture.
By the end of this coming week, they will know "sit", and begin to work on "down", and they will have learned both, before they leave us.
Maddy was showing less interest in being close to the puppies in the past week, but the presense of treats for work, keeps her around.
Both Maddy and Kikka are being great co-trainers, showing the little girls, how it's done.
Please be adviced, that we might take a few days on responding to e-mails from friends and family.
We thank You for Your patience.
We do currently not respond to new puppy inquiries.

Camera error
Our camera decided to comply with the photographer and willingly act like it was taking a ton of pictures, just to not keep or save them on the disk. It is pretty devastating and we are really sorry, we had so many, but they are lost in cyper-disk-space.
We are presenting the few remaining pictures.
Kikka and the puppies are playing hard all day long, inside due to cold weather, and nothing is safe, when 2 puppies and a 20 lbs adult dog tears through the house at 200 Mph.
Maddy sometimes wants to be with the puppies, but she decides when and where, and is working on establishing her superior position with them...this is a sure sign, that she now less considers the puppies as puppies, but more so little dogs.

A new inhabitant
The puppies have met all sorts of different people, and are instantly attracted to any human. However, an extra human, of their "very own", has moved into their house, and that is simply the best!
A human with a deep voice, who wants to be part of all their wild games and helps them invent new ones even wilder, and who loves to cuddle afterwards...this human must absolutely be part puppy himself!

Little Denmark's Calamity Jane 6 weeks old
now 2195 Grams, 4 lbs 13 3/8 oz
Annie Oakley 6 weeks old
now 1940 Grams, 4 lbs 4 3/8 oz
Calamity Jane sits
"Am I looking cute now?"
Annie Oakley sits
"Yeah Sis, I'll show you cute"
A real snuggle time
This is the closest we've seen to "puppy pile" by 2 puppies only.
Annie wants to be fed
Kikka is grabbing her by the nose to tell her "cool it"...
Determination and pursuation
Annie is not taking no for an answer...
And she wins, she's just eating upside down...
Because a good Mama dog gives in!
